Durring research for a Photo Assignment, I encountered this video about the first 100 yrs of Leica. But it really is not about Leica, it is about portable photography. Sure, Leica built the first camera around the 35mm format, but others followed and built some amazing devises. No, this video is about the celebration of capturing moments that would be impossible to do with large format cameras.
I decided I needed to dig in and understand each of these photos being referenced. Finding them was simple enough as I found a site that showed each image that is being imitated. I decided to go through these and dig in a bit more into each one. While it would take far too much time to do a real deep dive into each, I thought I could at least understand who took them and in what context. Here goes nothing!
