HP 5+ is a notoriously flexible film. I have been trying to push it to its very limits to see the results. Here I shot a roll on my Olympus Stylus, Point and Shoot camera pushing the standard ISO of HP5 from 400 to 3200. The results are contrasty with a great deal of shadow detail. In the cloudy, early morning light of London this is a wonderful set up. Below are a few of the images I took with this configuration.
Where it begins to fall apart is in relatively bright days as there is some loss in detail in light regions. So, while I love the results of pushing this film, I believe that it should be reserved for those times when you will shoot an entire roll in dim light.
For development I used Rodonal stand development for 1 hour in a 1:100 mixture.
